This website is designed to explain to you the Maximum Performance Running (MPR) training philosophy for training distance runners for races from 5k to the marathon.
The attached 2 files explain to you the MPR Training Philosophy and provide a Training Pace Guide to be used with the MPR philosophy.
MPR wants to fully acknoledge the influence that legendary running coahes Jack Daniels, Joe Vigil, Arthur Lydiard, Bill Squires, Bill Bowerman, Renato Canova and Gabriele Rosa have had on the devlopment of this training philosophy.
It is through a combination of studying training doctrain from these and other coaches, learnings from over 30 years of personal experience and the experinences of other coaches and athletes, that the MPR philosophy was developed. The basic concepts behind many of the charts and graphs included in this presentation have come in part from many other coaches who have shared them along the way.
